Board of Education Meetings and Agendas
Public notice of board of education meetings and their corresponding agendas are published in BoardDocs 72 hours prior to the meeting. First Look, which is a high-level preview of the upcoming board meeting, is distributed once the meeting is posted. Board Briefs, which features a summary of the committee of the whole or regular action meetings, is typically released the day after those meetings occur.
Board Meeting Start Time
Board of education meetings are typically called to order at 6 p.m. However, the start time may be adjusted should the board need to discuss issues or items in closed session. In those instances, the board will adjourn the meeting to closed session immediately after calling it to order, and reconvene in open session when the closed session has concluded.
Public Participation at Board Meetings
At each regular and special open meeting of the board of education, members of the public and district employees will be given time during audience communication to comment on or ask questions of the board. Audience communication will be conducted in accordance with policy 2:230 (Public Participation at Board of Education Meetings and Petitions to the Board) . Anyone who wishes to address the board during audience communication must sign up to speak prior to the meeting being called to order.
